Welcome!

I’m so glad you’re here. Taking the step to begin therapy is brave, and I want you to know you don’t have to walk this path alone. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), a doctoral candidate in Clinical Social Work, and a teacher of MSW students. My work is grounded in compassion, honesty, and connection, with the goal of helping you feel safe, understood, and supported.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working in many settings—including as an autism behavioral coach, foster care clinical case manager, and outpatient therapist. These experiences have shaped my approach to therapy, where we’ll work together to build skills for mindfulness, emotional balance, distress tolerance, and healthier relationships.

My own journey has shaped the way I view healing and resilience, and it inspires me to walk alongside clients with empathy, hope, and respect for their unique stories

I believe therapy should be a space where you can show up fully as yourself. Whether you’re navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, anger, or life changes, I will meet you where you are and walk beside you as we move toward your goals. I work with both children and adults, drawing from evidence-based approaches as well as innovative healing methods tailored to your needs.

Specialties:

  • Clientele: Adolescents (12+), Adults

  • Specialties:  Anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, life transitions, anger management, and depression

  • Modalities: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Informed Care, Strengths-Based Approach, Person-Centered Therapy

  • Certifications/Training: Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy spending time with my family, watching my favorite shows and movies, seeing live music, and getting lost in a good book. I believe in practicing what I teach—making space for joy, connection, and balance in my own life, just as I encourage my clients to do in theirs.

Meet Olive

Olive is a very special part of Healing Roots. Olive is trained to provide affection and comfort, and will only be present when the client agrees. Therapy dogs have been found to have calming effects on humans, activating the parasympathetic nervous system, resulting in lower blood pressure and heart rate. When discussing difficult emotions, clients report feeling comforted by the presence of a calm affectionate, furry companion. Ask how Olive can join you in session with Minuette!

Stephanie Stack MSW, APSW

Do you need support? Going through stressful life changes? Do you need help reaching your goals? Are you ready to become the healthiest and most confident version of yourself?

Hello! I’m Stephanie Stack, a passionate and dedicated Associate Clinical Social Worker. I earned my Master of Social Work from Aurora University, where I also completed my Bachelor of Social Work. I have a strong interest in cognitive-behavioral therapy, trauma-informed care, and caring for a variety of diverse individuals. I’m committed to fostering a safe and supportive environment for my clients where they feel the upmost comfort while sharing the most personal aspects of themselves and their lives with me.

My journey into the field of therapy began with a desire to help others navigate their challenges, daily life stressors, grief, trauma, and find resilience in their experiences. I believe in the power of empathy, active listening, and collaboration in the therapeutic process.

In my previous experiences, I’ve worked with diverse populations, including adults, adolescents, and abuse survivors, which has deepened my understanding of the unique challenges each person faces. I’m motivated to help and support individuals ages 16 years and up, who are struggling with depression, anxiety, grief, life changes, relationship issues, or trauma.

Outside of my internship and studies, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, journaling, and watching my favorite TV shows, which helps me maintain a balanced perspective and stay grounded. I look forward to continuing to grow as a clinician and making a positive impact in the lives of those I work with.

Feel free to reach out if you’d like to connect! I’m ready to provide in person and telehealth sessions. Limited availability for in-person sessions.
